I don't actually live in the US, I'm Aussie through and through, but I'm just curious. Do they sell silencers for pistols in the US legally and if so is it legal to carry a silenced pistol around?
I'm interested in the above platform. My concern is that it seems like a solution looking for a problem. So, in what circumstances or events may owning and carrying an AR15 pistol benefit the user vs having another weapon system handy? What are the advantages/disadvantages? I already own a 16" AR and so I like the idea of using the same ammo and mags for each weapon. Thanks in advance. Lastly, assume that I won't likely go through the hassle of getting a silencer for it...would be cool though.

Personally I would find a remote place with a small population thats near an ocean. Greased triple chain fence surrounding the area, fences separating the zombies from the ocean, and sharks for added precaution ;] Simple bunker would do fine, with underground areas in case they break through the fence. Keep a lifetime supply of beef jerky, canned vienna sausages, other canned stuff, and flintstone vitamins. A water filtration system that makes water from humidity, and kool aid pouches 8] internet and ps3/wii/360 to keep me from going crazy. Treadmill to keep healthy in case i need to run, and a whole arsenal of grenades, katanas, crowbars, m4's, m40 snipers, shotguns, pistols with silencers, and lots and lots of ammo. And as a final resort, a decked out cruise liner with a nuclear generator capable of running for 183 years filled with things that will keep a man alive and happy until he dies on a boat. Oh and ill have people to keep me company :]

Ever since my brother came back from the military he felt the need to build an arsenal of weapons. We have allowed him to live in our home, but he is unstable, and has made threats to us and other establishments. He's a sadist and brags about killing innocent people in Iraq. He said that he and members of his company would sometimes pick up AK47s drop them next to killed inncocent civilians so as to make a murder look like self defense. Since being here, he has made threats with weapons to everyone in the household, animals, and when things don't go his way, threaten to go on a shooting. When he was failing college because of his failure to communicate to professors, he had said "What that Cho guy did is nothing, I'm going to shoot up the whole *effing* school! And unlike him I got the firepower to do so!" He's a self righteous hate mongerer and feels justified in his opinion. He says he bought the guns as a hobby, then as home defense, but now he wants a silencer for his .22 rifle so no one could hear him fire it. He also wants to spray paint the tip of his pistols orange and walk around in public with it like a toy. It's not to say I was never understanding, I wanted him to seek treatment with veteran affairs but everyone around me felt it was better to let things pass.This past week one of the dogs got loose, and he got angry and started beating the dog. I could hear the dog's cries and every hit from the next room over. I got tired of his bull so I knocked him down, in which he then got apprehensive. He wanted to fight but my dad split us up. I had enough and I was going to call the cops, and he then got scared, ripped out the phone line because he was afraid they were going to take his guns. im moving to Oklahoma and i wanted to know if i can own a silencer? would it be lawful for me to use a silencer on a pistol? i know some states alloe ownership of silencers but not on actual usage of it. Would i need a license for a silence rin OK?
Alright, long story short, I'm probably going to be buying a Galaxy mp5 PDW (The version with a stock) from a guy my friend knows for $40... Used, but still in awfully good condition. My questions are these: I can attach a mock silencer, right? And if I can, what length of inner barrel would I need? I'd be using it more for woodland play than CQC, so I need an inner barrel longer than stock, for more range and better accuracy.
PS: I'm not a complete airsoft 'noob', I've twice skirmished, but used a friend's gun, and I have my own crappy LPEG and spring pistol, but this will be the first moderately nice gun I've owned
I see alot of threaded barrels and silencers on .22 pistols, not the case on the 9mm etc. Is there less of a headache to go through when buying a suppressor for a .22 (10/22 in mind)?

now either takes them on and risks them saying the federal
agents have no right to violate their state gun

Important Points -
If guns and ammunition are manufactured inside the State
of Montana for sale and use inside that state then the
federal firearms laws have no applicability since the
federal government only has the power to control commerce
across state lines.
Montana has the law on their side. Since when did the USA
start following their own laws especially the constitution
of the USA, the very document that empowers the USA.
Silencers made in Montana and sold in Montana would be
fully legal and not registered. As a note silencers were
first used before the 007 movies as a device to enable one
to hunt without disturbing neighbors and scaring game.
They were also useful as devices to control noise when
practicing so as to not disturb the neighbors.
Silencers work best with a bolt-action rifle. There is a
long barrel and the chamber is closed tight so as to direct
all the gases though the silencer at the tip of the barrel.
Semi-auto pistols and revolvers do not really muffle the
sound very well except on the silver screen.
The revolvers bleed gas out with the sound all over the
place. The semi-auto pistols bleed the gases out when the
slide recoils back.
Silencers are maybe nice for snipers picking off enemy
soldiers even though they reduce velocity but not very
practical for hit men shooting pistols in crowded places.
Silencers were useful tools for gun enthusiasts and hunters.
There would be no firearm registration, serial numbers,
criminal records check, waiting periods or paperwork
required. So in a short period of time there would be
millions and millions of unregistered untraceable guns in
Montana.
Discussion-
Let us see what Obama does. If he hits Montana hard they
will probably vote to secede from the USA.
The governor of Texas has already been refusing Federal

Anything under 50 bucks, preferably non transparent with a large magazine, an extra magazine, paintball bbs and possibly a silencer.
Let's say a friend of mine got tired of living next to some people with really loud dogs that would start barking at sunrise every morning. So he crept out one night into his yard, placed an illegal silencer on his pistol, and picked the dogs off through his fence as they slept.
If he was charged with killing the dogs, can he also be charged with illegal use of a silencer, even if no silencer was ever found? Can a jury make an inference that a silencer must have been used if no one heard the shots the killed the dogs (this is a somewhat dense residential area)?
Is there even a crime of illegal USE of a silencer, or do all the crimes dealing with silencers require POSSESSION?

This is just a clip from about 5 pages worth of a story. I don't know whether to continue writing it or scrap it. I like what I have, but continuing it will take some work, so if no one else is interested, than I'll probably just scrap it.
For context, all you need to know is the narrator and a teenage girl were in the woods looking for a cat that the passengers on this bus insisted that they find. They never found it. "The man" has also been introduced before this passage. He's one of the passengers and it's been established that he's very creepy.
It took some time, but we managed to come out of the woods just a little ways up from where the bus was. I couldna��t see any silhouettes under the moonlight and that worried me. The girl and I hurried back to the bus, but stopped when I tripped over something. The girl screamed and I looked up just in time to see the man come out from the shadow of the bus and shoot my companion in the head with a muted pistol. I jumped too my feet and tried to dart around the other side of the bus, but I tripped on something again. It was a body. I had fallen over a body! And now that I knew this, I looked up and saw all the bodies of the passengers and bus driver sprawled out on the ground in dark, ominous shadows.
I was completely taken with terror and didna��t know how to react. The man stood over me, but his gun was gone. He held his hand out to help me up, but I scooted away from him and crawled-walked-ran as fast as I could down the road. A gun shot went off. I stopped running and slowly turned around. It was just as well. My body was shaking and convulsing too much for me to run anymore. I couldna��t see his face, but I could have sworn he was smiling. He was putting the silencer back on his gun as he walked slowly towards me in the street. My legs gave way to emotion and I collapsed to the ground in a fit of crying.
By the time he got to me he had put his gun away and extended his hand once again to help me up. I shook my head a�?no.a�? I didna��t want to get up.
a�?You feel guilty for killing all of those people.a�? He wasna��t asking me.
a�?I didna��t kill them!a�? My words were broken through my crying fits. a�?You killed them!a�?
a�?You killed them!a�? He accused me viciously. a�?You were told what would happen if you went to them and you did it anyway! Boldly! Do you remember? You held your head defiantly and went to talk to them knowing full well what ita��d bring!a�?
a�?But I didna��t!a�?
a�?Yes, you did!a�?
a�?No! I didna��t know what would happen! You didna��t tell me this!a�? I was confused and desperate. I was accusing him of not being clear in his threat when really I should have been mad that none of them believed me. Now I was alone with a maniac carrying a gun. It was the middle of the night and we were on a mountain highway in the middle of nowhere. And our bus had a flat tire. I was screwed.

yeah... I realize there's a lot in this clip that needs some explaining and that can really turn you off, but I do have explanations of whats going on.
The plot (if I should continue) is not fully developed yet. I have a few ends in mind and many ways to get there.
What I do know for sure is the theme behind it all. Very clearly in my head I have this idea of a struggle between nonsense/chaos and logic/control. Throughout the bit of story that I have, the protagonist is struggling to make sense of everything but is lost in chaos and the antagonist seems to make no sense, yet he maintains control of everything and in his own way, forms a kind of logic.
So, yeah... I don't know if I'm too lost in the intangible points that I skimp on the more solid story, but those are my driving thoughts right now.

i've heard an empty plastic pop bottle can work as a pistol silencer, is this true?
